When a sellsword and an eight-foot-tall owl attempt to rescue a damsel in distress, they are in for a lot more than they planned! This book features elves and dwarves, and all of your other favorite fantasy junk!

Blade and Feather edition by Ryan Partlow Literature Fiction eBooks

Full Disclosure: I know Ryan personally, professionally, and some other p-word-ally.

When I created a D&D Campaign for our home group that introduced a giant owl protecting an ancient device I had no idea that one of my players would befriend that owl and create a life long bond with a lucky roll - that player was Ryan. Together they killed and intimidated the enemies of the party with abandon. That campaign ended, but the story of Shmee and Hoots continues in Blade and Feather with Ryan's own twist to the Fantasy genre. Blade and Feather is a fun, quick read with plenty of jokes and humorous events to tickle the funny bone of anyone who's rolled a D20 and/or rolled their eyes anytime an Elf showed up. Its not just silliness though, as the plot takes Shmee and Hoots across the land, gaining followers and LOOT!, as they work to stop the Order of the Coil from destroying magic from the world - also LOOT!

My only complaint is that the writing isn't always clean, the meaning is easy to decipher, but you have to decipher some times.

I still had fun reading the story and enjoyed the characters of Shmee and Hoots kinship despite them being a human with a flaming sword and a giant owl.
